Are The Recent Deaths From Vaping Tied to Vape Juice?

Black Market Products are the problem, NOT Vape Juice.

Updated 12 Sept • Tony Montagno • tony@ecigaretteempire.com

"President Trump says the administration will try to force the e-cigarette industry to remove flavored vaping products from the market as reports emerge of deaths and illnesses tied to vaping.” - @NPR Twitter

JUST IN: “Trump now says not all vaping is bad”. This is a brand new headline from an article that was published by CNN today regarding the news on the latest topic, banning flavored vaping liquids.

The LATEST news: This is a direct tweet from President Trump,

While I like the Vaping alternative to Cigarettes, we need to make sure this alternative is SAFE for ALL!”, “Let's get counterfeits off the market, and keep young children from Vaping!”.

This is a different take toward vaping and e-cigarettes, compared to his response on Wednesday regarding the recent health issues. President Trump also mentioned getting counterfeit products off of the market, which is the main point that vaping community is trying to make. Counterfeit products, black market THC cartridges, and vitamin E all seem to be a common trend currently with all of the vaping related health issues.

In a video that was posted today on CNN Health, you can see Gregory Conley, the founder of the American Vaping Association, go head to head with Dr. Sanjay Gupta regarding the recent health issues that has been caused from vaping.

Gregory Conley fought tooth and nail to properly educate viewers on what the real risk of vaping is, and made some very valid points.

“The American Medical Association opposed vaping for ten years, they are adamantly opposed to any form of tobacco harm reduction for smokers.” Gregory Conley argued. “That should not come as a surprise to anyone familiar with this debate.”.

It is safe to say that both sides have valid points, but we cannot draw any conclusions as of right now until further investigation has been done. What we can say, is that serious health issues have not come to mainstream media until vitamin E, counterfeit products, and black market THC cartridges were added into the picture. Vaping has always been a harm reduction alternative to smoking tobacco, and cigarettes. It was never meant to be safe, it was meant to be safer.

It is very important to educate yourself about what products you are buying, is it from a reliable and trusted manufacturer, and are you moderating yourself. These are key points that this article will highlight and further explain.

At the end of the day, the goal of vape juice, and vaping is to help offer a safer alternative to everyday smokers while keeping youth out of the picture completely. Prohibition will not fix anything and will have many people turn back to very harmful cigarettes.

There is a storm brewing in the vaping industry due to the recent health issues that are occurring in the United States. A sixth person has died from lung disease tied to vaping with dozens hospitalized.

The mainstream media outlets are eating up these health issues and putting headlines on every news article, but there is only one problem…

Their delivery.

Let’s talk about the word vaping.

To clarify, vaping is a delivery method. There are multiple liquids that can be vaped but vaping is a form of delivery so when these news channels are publishing headlines such as,

”A sixth person died from vaping-related lung disease. Here’s what you need to know.” - CNN Health, it is really putting a false stain on the vape juice community.

It is most common for people to associate the word vaping, with vaping e liquid, but there is more to these stories…

What the news outlets are failing to explain:

Many of these patients that have been admitted to the hospital for vaping related lung diseases have admitted to using “Black Market” THC cartridges.

This is pretty self explanatory but let’s hop into the complications of “Black Market” products:

Not only are these products mostly illegal but they are unregulated. Most of them contain an extremely high level of vitamin E, known as vitamin E acetate, which has been tied to most of these lung diseases from vaping.

This is directly quoted from an article that was originally published by The Washington Post:

“That same chemical was also found in nearly all cannabis samplesfrom patients who fell ill in New York in recent weeks, a state health department spokeswoman said.”. This is in regards to the THC Cartridges.

That same chemical was also found in nearly all cannabis samplesfrom patients who fell ill in New York in recent weeks, a state health department spokeswoman said.

The Washington Post Article

On the same topic, this is a direct quote from an article published by CNN Health:

The federal investigation into the link between vaping and severe lung illnesses is ongoing and has not identified a cause, but all reported cases have indicated the use of e-cigarette products and some patients have reported using e-cigarettes containing cannabinoid products, such as THC.”

These paragraphs hold very important information about what products are causing these health related issues, but the problem is that, in some cases, this information is not included until the 10th paragraph while the first paragraph is using words such as vaping, and e cigarette without any clarification.

Know what you are buying, and only buy verified products:

Just like any other consumable in the world, make sure you know what you are buying and that is from a trusted brand!

Having negative health effects from “black market” products and drugs is not surprising so when you are purchasinganything, always go with verified suppliers and trusted brands.

The good news is that E Cigarette Empire carries only trusted brands in the vaping industry, all of which have FDA compliant products and we receive them directly from the verified supplier.

At no point in time, or ever in the future, will we carry unverified products that are not FDA compliant. All of our e juice come from the biggest manufacturers in the industry and are considered to be the “top shelf” or “premium” selection.

E Cigarette Empire has been in the vaping industry for over 6 years now and has a total of over 26,000 verified reviews across all products.

With a positive reputation, the community can guarantee and vouch that E Cigarette Empire only carries verified products.

It is VERY important to moderate:

Just like anything else, nicotine has a fatal dosage, as well as negative impacts on health. While vaping may be a healthier alternative to smoking cigarettes, it is still important to moderate usage.

Just because it is considered to be healthier than traditional tobacco, doesn’t mean that it cannot be deadly.

A prime example is the case of a young man in Connecticut who had a massive hemorrhagic stroke at the age of 22. This is extremely unheard of except when you throw a massive amount of daily nicotine intake into the mix.

Teen’s Two-Pod A Day Juul Addiction Caused Massive Stroked, Lawsuit Says

Forbes Article Headline - July 18th, 2019

This is a headline from a Forbes article published on July 18th, 2019, in regards to the case. “Teen’s Two-Pod A Day Juul Addiction Caused Massive Stroked, Lawsuit Says.”

Now, anyone who is somewhat familiar with e-cigarettes, vaping, or the backlash that JUUL is receiving based on their “marketing to underage children”, knows that one JUUL Pod is equivalent to one pack of cigarettes. When moderation is not in place and you are vaping two packs of cigarettes worth of nicotine, things can get unhealthy, and even deadly, extremely fast.

This is why it is important to moderate things that you do, and consume, especially when nicotine is thrown into the situation.

Again, as stated before, vape juice and e cigarettes, for nicotine, may be the healthier alternative to smoking cigarettes, but only when used in moderation.

The Future of the Vape Juice Industry and Latest News:

In the beginning of the article, there is a tweet from NPR that is directly quoting President Trump on addressing the latest health issues with “vaping”.

The goal for the President’s administration is to completely remove, menthol, mint, and fruit flavored e liquids completely from the market. Basically, anything but tobacco flavors will be illegal to sell.

Outside the White House, Alex Azar, the secretary for Health and Human Services, said the administration’s planned ban on mint and menthol flavored e-cigarettes was prompted by 2019 government survey data showing an alarming jump in teen use of e-cigarettes, including those flavors. The officials didn’t release the 2019 data.

Wall Street Journal Article - September 11th, 2019

Quoted from a Wall Street Journal article that was published shortly after the President addressed the issue on September 11th, 2019:

Outside the White House, Alex Azar, the secretary for Health and Human Services, said the administration’s planned ban on mint and menthol flavored e-cigarettes was prompted by 2019 government survey data showing an alarming jump in teen use of e-cigarettes, including those flavors. The officials didn’t release the 2019 data."

Mr. Azar said it would take the administration several weeks to put out the final guidance on the new policy. Then, after a 30-day period, all e-cigarettes, except for tobacco-flavored products, would have to be removed from the market.

This means that the only vape juice that companies could manufacture and sell are tobacco flavored liquids. This would greatly hurt the vape juice industry and will change the way things are done completely!

Considering that big tobacco companies are being crushed by the vaping industry, this seems like all to well of timing, especially since Phillip Morris is releasing their own e-cigarette device in the very near future.

Not only will tobacco flavored e liquids be the only thing allowed in the market but by May 2020, companies must apply for an FDA review.

Sourced from a Wall Street Journal article on Trump’s latest stand on vaping:

“Manufacturers of tobacco-flavored e-cigarettes may continue to sell their products but must apply by May 2020 for a Food and Drug Administration review. Makers of all other e-cigarette flavors can also apply for FDA authorization, but their products would be off the market pending the review.”

Premium Vape Juice vs. Cigarettes

A lot of countries in Europe are Pro-Vaping and encourage e juice as an alternate method to stop smoking cigarettes. It is very tightly regulated which helps prevent serious health issues like the ones happening in America right now.

A full investigation is not yet available but we've heard reports that most of these cases were linked to people using illicit vaping fluid bought on the streets or homemade, some containing cannabis products, like THC, or synthetic cannabinoids, like Spice

Martin Dockrell - Head of Tobacco Control at Public Health England, taken from BBC Article.

This is a direct quote from Martin Dockrell, who is the Head of Tobacco Control at Public Health England, and was taken from a BBC article regarding the latest vaping health news:

“A full investigation is not yet available but we've heard reports that most of these cases were linked to people using illicit vaping fluid bought on the streets or homemade, some containing cannabis products, like THC, or synthetic cannabinoids, like Spice.”

“Unlike the US, all e-cigarette products in the UK are tightly regulated for quality and safety by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency and they operate the Yellow Card Scheme, encouraging vapers to report any bad experiences.”

Please do not confuse black market, illegal, unregulated, homemade THC liquids and vape juice with premium, regulated, authentic e liquid.

At the end of the day, in 2019, vaping has caused six deaths with most of them relating to black market THC liquids, underlying lung issues, and pre-existing diseases.

Cigarettes on the other hand, have caused more than 7 million deaths per year, and if the pattern of smoking all of the globe doesn’t change, more than 8 million people a year will die from diseases related to tobacco use by 2030. - Cited from CDC.gov Fast Facts.

In conclusion, it is very important to properly educate yourself, and become more informed on this popular topic before making any quick decisions on replacing vape juice with cigarettes, or writing off vape juice in general.

Do not let the bad delivery of news articles help make your decision for you. Read them all the way through, buy from trusted suppliers, and moderate yourself.

The BLACK MARKET is the problem not Vape Juice! The same juice that are winging people off nicotine overall. The solution we come up with is to band it? Just seems like vape juice is working and cigarette companies are losing there smokers!

They want to ban all flavored e liquids so people go back to smoking. If its actually helping individuals to stop smoking all together then why ban it ?

I am obviously devastated by this news. I am crushed. At the beginning of this article you stated that your e juices were trusted and approved. So does this mean that this site will still be able to sell flavored liquids? If they no longer will be able to be sold, is it permanently gone? Or will and when could they return? I have quite smiling because of the high quality and tasty products that you all distribute. I love your service but I feel with this unsettling news that I may go back to smoking. If I wanted to inhale something that tastes like a cigarette I will just go smoke a cigarette. I am just looking for some answers. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
